Hello everyone,

Well, here is the final newsletter for 2000. I hope that everyone has a great Christmas and New Years. Because of the festivities there is no meeting scheduled for December, so the next one will be held at the end of January. For those of you who managed to make it to the last meeting, you'll know that Sarracenia, Nepenthes, Pinguicula and Heliamphora exchanged hands, seed was donated and bought and lots of plant talk occurred. For those of you who didn't make it to the meeting - think of everything that you're missing out on! It'd be great to see a few more faces at meetings in the New Year.

One of the main topics of discussion at the November meeting was the starting up of a small library of CP books. What is your favourite CP book and why? Let me know (via email/mail/phone) and we'll endeavour to get copies of the most popular books.

Alternatively the seed-bank should be available at most meetings.

PLANT DATABASE

It was suggested several meetings ago that we should set up a database of CPs grown in Christchurch and who has them. This would give people the chance to expand their collections by letting them know who has the plants that they would like to purchase/trade/beg for. I'll try to put together a list of the plants that I grow early in the New Year, as well as which ones are available for trading etc. If other people can find the time to do this then we may well develop a very useful resource. Please send the lists to me in whatever form is convenient, although email would be easiest at my end (cut-and-paste is a wonderful invention).

TO MAIL OR NOT TO MAIL?

Thanks to those members who have requested that they would like to receive their newsletters by email. If you've received this newsletter by mail after requesting it sent via email, then I must have accidentally dropped you off the email list. Sorry! Please let me know again. If there are other people out there who would like to receive a digital version of this newsletter please email me at:

stevenson_tj@hotmail.com

This will reduce the printing and postage costs for the newsletter whilst getting the latest info to you sooner – so much the better for when new and interesting seed arrives.
