What is up with this summer? I've got some plants well into winter dormancy whilst others think it's spring and are sending up flower spikes. Good grief. I've also noticed that there are a lot of caterpillars out and about at the moment which is never a good thing. If anyone knows of any good caterpillar remedies/deterrents please let me know and I'll share it with everyone.
On a sadder note, a long-term CP enthusiast was lost to us late last year. Rhye Austin died in a house fire in Christchurch just before Christmas. His work with the society was appreciated by all and his contributions will be missed.
Finally, there's a meeting this Wednesday (sorry about the late warning!) at the YMCA Conference Room at 8:00pm. All welcome and feel free to bring plants along to sell/trade/exhibit.
